FEMME PROJECT
about
Femme project is a compilation of stories, views, photographs and writings about self love, woman- and sisterhood.
I photograph different women and share their stories regarding how they relate to their bodies, the insecurities they have and how we can strengthen the connection we have with our feminine essence, both within ourselves and others.
why femme
At this point in time there are more ways than ever to connect with one another, yet we have never felt more disconnected than we have today. I believe this feeling to go hand in hand with the suppression of the feminine.
Growing up we are often told “boys don’t cry” or “don’t be such a girl about it”, leading us to believe that we have to keep our feelings at bay in order to fit in. That we have to keep ourselves together in order to be loved.
As a result we tend to suppress this infinite source of intuitive, emotional intelligence and end up depriving ourselves from the connections that come from allowing ourselves to be entirely transparent.
intention
By creating a space for this soft, creative and feminine energy to flow I hope to inspire people to become more comfortable with sharing their hearts and telling their stories. I want to encourage people to celebrate their uniquenesses and feel more at home in their skin.
Through hearing and relating to the the struggles and celebrations of others I hope we can become more confident within our own and start seeing vulnerability as a doorway to a deeper sense of connection and belonging in our lives.

Since I want to make this project as inclusive and diverse as possible I would like to invite you to share your thoughts surrounding this topic! If you feel called to participate you can do so by clicking the button below. You’ll receive 8 questions for you to answer, which will be featured in the project. Your words might also be shared on @thegoddesspace and you’ll be able to get 15% off your Full Goddess Session.

About
With this project I hope to bring women together and strengthen the sense of self and sisterhood we experience in our daily lives. By creating a platform for different stories, bodies and experiences I hope to encourage people to speak more openly about their vulnerabilities and feel more comfortable in their own skin.
By photographing different kinds of women I hope to change the way we relate to the concept of beauty and strengthen the connection we have with our own uniqueness. I want to shine light on our vulnerabilities and imperfections so we can learn to celebrate them. To not love ourselves despite of them, but because of them. I want to make people feel beautiful in their uniqueness. For us to celebrate instead of compare, to connect instead of perfect.“My puberty was though on me until I made a complete switch. I started to unfollow people who made me doubt myself and started following people who preached body positivity and self love, and I joined the movement. I started posting pictures and sharing my thoughts about this topic and got so much positive feedback from people, like girls telling me that I made them feel beautiful and that they realised they should love themselves more. Every damn time I get a message like this it makes me tear up. Now I would say that my relationship with myself is stable, although I have times where I feel very ugly and bad about myself. I always surround myself with the people I love and make sure to take extra care of myself.”
“Stop trying to make everything a competition. We should be supporting each other instead of bringing other woman down. We should stand together.”
I love my body, even though I struggle to accept that society’s vision is not mine to hold.
“self love to me is accepting who you are. You can not love everything about yourself, but you can learn to accept it and appreciate it.”
“What makes me feel feminine is a though question. Sometimes it's the mindset of "I'm a bad bitch", other times it’s a mindset of being more graceful and humble. It really depends on what mood I'm in.”
“I feel feminine when I put on some red lipstick, a beautiful bra, my jeans and a white blouse. With all my jewellery on, a coffee in my hand, the wind in my hair and my favourite music on.”
